What this does
Draws each page and saves it as its own picture, numbered in order and offered together as a ZIP.
What it can’t do
Keep text selectable. A picture of a page is only a picture.
A worked example
A slide deck exported as a PDF needs to go into a chat that only takes images. Twelve pages become twelve PNGs.
Questions
- JPG or PNG?
- PNG keeps text perfectly sharp. JPG gives much smaller files and suits pages that are mostly photos.
- Which sharpness should I choose?
- 150 dpi reads well on a screen. Use 300 dpi if the pictures will be printed. 72 dpi is for small previews.
- Why does some text look slightly different?
- If a PDF relies on a font that is not stored inside it, a similar font on your device is used.
Your file stays on this device
The tool above runs in a sealed frame that cannot send your file anywhere. It works with airplane mode on, and the counter above it stays at 0. Here is how you can check that yourself.
