Privacy policy
The short version. Your files stay on your device. The pages around the tools show ordinary adverts and count visits without cookies.
Your files
Files you add to a tool are read and processed by your own browser. They are not sent to this site or to anyone else, and neither are their names, sizes, types or contents. This is enforced by the browser, as described on the check page.
A tool may remember your settings (for example, the quality you last chose) in your browser’s storage for the tool’s own domain. That stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser at any time.
What the tool tells the page around it
The sealed frame can tell the page four things: how tall it needs to be, that it is ready, how far along a job is, and whether a job succeeded. Nothing about the file is included.
Visit counts
The pages count visits with a cookieless analytics service: which page was opened, the referring site, and the type of device and country as worked out from the request. No cookie is set, no profile is built, and visits are not linked across days. Two events come from the tools: “tool opened” and “job finished, succeeded or failed”.
Adverts
Adverts on the pages around the tools are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to choose and measure adverts, depending on your choice.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for consent before personalised adverts are shown, and you can change your choice at any time from the link in the consent message.
- Elsewhere, you can turn off personalised adverts in Google’s ad settings.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Adverts never load inside a tool, and an advert cannot see a file.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to stop abuse, and keeps short-lived logs.
What is not collected
There are no accounts, no email lists and no error-reporting service in the tools. If a tool fails, it offers the error text for you to copy and send if you choose.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with its date.
